About Kelso

Through the Abbey graveyard, through the Knowes car park at the far right corner of the car park is a sign for Mayfield river walk follow the road down to the river. Left along the river until the steps taking you up to the Hunter’s bridge.
Take a right over the bridge, once across the bridge you will see a path on your right taking you down to the road. At the road turn left
Follow the road up until you get to a red post box turn right down Pinnacle Hill Park then first right and first left. Here you will see a gap and a path with steps that take you to the river bank. Go left along the river for a short distance then take the steps back up to a road.
At the road turn right and then where it meets the main Kelso road turn right follow this past the Jet Garage Until the Millenium Viewpoint. Just to the right of the viewpoint are steps that take you down into Croft Park past 3 trees planted to commemorate the Battle of the Somme. Then Take the steps up onto the Old Rennie Bridge.
Crossing the bridge are fine views of the Junction Pool and Floors castle.
Once across the bridge you will pass the ruins of Kelso Abbey and the war memorial as you pass up Bridge Street taking you back to Kelso Square.
