Taking in the country air is always pretty invigorating, but if you’re spending some time with us in the South, why not take up a couple of true-blue pastoral pastimes? Pick up a rifle and try your hand at clay pigeon shooting or cast out your line in some of the finest rivers in Scotland. The countryside is calling.

Where to Visit?

For clay shooting, the Borders are best, offering several grounds where you get to test your marksmanship. In particular, aim for Kelso and Selkirk. For fishing, you have the River Tweed in the east, and the Rivers Nith and Annan in the west – just make sure you book before you go.
