Lockerbie – Eskdalemuir – Castle O’er Loop

Cycling

This must be the quirkiest of routes in Dumfries & Galloway. Leave the town of Lockerbie and head into the hills of Eskdalemuir Forest to visit the vibrantly coloured Tibetan Buddhist Centre of Samye Ling near Eskdalemuir.

Eskdalemuir has also a wonderful café - The Hub (the old school). If you are keen on prehistory - the area boasts a set stone circles and further on the impressive Castle O’er. The route takes you back via the B7068, Bankshill and Tundergarth to return to Lockerbie.
