About Westview Cottage - Port William

Westview Cottage sits right on the seafront in Port William, looking out across the sweep of Luce Bay. It’s a place to slow down, put the kettle on and watch the tide and the light change.

We bought the cottage derelict in 2021 and renovated it ourselves, with a lot of love. Every room has been thought through, so it feels like a proper home from home, with high-end touches and lots of comfort.

The cottage is reverse-level, so the bedrooms are downstairs and the open-plan living space is upstairs, where the best views are. Cook, eat and relax with the bay in front of you, and when the evenings draw in, light the wood-burning stove and settle in. The bedrooms have Simba mattresses, so you’ll sleep beautifully after a day by the sea. It sleeps six, so it’s ideal for families and friends. There’s also an enclosed garden, handy for children and for outdoor mornings with a coffee.

Port William is a friendly harbour village on the Machars peninsula, and the cottage is a short stroll from the shore and the village. It’s a lovely base for coastal walks, beaches, wildlife and some of the quietest, darkest night skies in Britain. Nearby you’ll find Wigtown Book Town, Logan Botanic Garden, Whithorn and the Mull of Galloway, the southernmost point of Scotland.

We’d love to welcome you to our little corner of Galloway.
