About Walk up the River Teviot - Kelso to Roxburgh Castle

The path along the river takes you past the great mound where Roxburgh Castle once stood. A few bits of masonry are still visible. Roxburgh Castle was once a favourite residence of the Kings of Scotland while the green field between the Tweed and Teviot was the Royal Burgh of Roxburgh, which was destroyed in the wars with England.
