About Thornielee

Thornielee is a smaller Forestry Commission site, sitting east of Walkerburn on the A72 Peebles to Galashiels road, that has become busier due to the increasing popularity of mountain biking. It enjoys a pretty viewpint from the car park and the easy access route called the Meadow Trail. The Muckle Mooth Meg legend is illustrated at this site.
As well as walks, this is a great place to spot butterflies such as Small Copper and the Northern Brown Argus in the summer.
