About Striding Arches

Situated on the hilltops near Cairnhead, these sculptures were designed by landscape artist Andy Goldsworthy. The two located in Dumfries & Galloway can be found at the Byre and Locharbriggs Quarry. Each arch was built from red sandstone sourced from Dumfries. The structures stand at 4 meters high.
