About Shedden Park

Shedden Park was donated to the people of Kelso in 1850 by Mrs. Robertson of Ednam House. It was named in honour of her beloved nephew Robert Shedden, who died while assisting in the search for Sir John Franklin’s lost expedition to the North West Passage. The park remains – as Mrs. Robertson intended – a place of recreation & sport for the people of Kelso with a children’s' playpark, a skateboarding area and cricket and hockey pitches.
The entrance to the park is marked by a triumphal arch, erected and paid for by the people of Kelso in Mrs Robertson's honour
