About Newstead circular

This walk may be short but makes up for it in heritage. The circular starts in Melrose and follows the ancient Priorswalk and passed the Rhymer’s Stone. This means walkers will follow in the footsteps of the monks along Priorswalk before heading through the old settlement of Newstead, believed to be the oldest inhabited village in Scotland. It is made up of clear, fairly flat paths. Parking available in the Abbey Car Park.
