New Quay

About New Quay

Walk along New Quay which was built in 1843 and separates the Main Harbour from the Eye Water. This forms a channel which leads to the boatyard. Boats using the boatyard slipway are moved along this narrow channel, known as ‘The Cut'. At the seaward end of the Middle Pier is a footbridge across the Cut to the opposite side of the harbour.
