About Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbright and the surrounding areas are one of the best kept secrets in Scotland. Whilst many areas are packed with visitors, in Kirkcudbright you can be the only people on the beach. Whether you visit Kirkcudbright for the stunning scenery, the wildlife and outdoor activities on offer, the great family attractions, or you prefer to relax and take in the view from one of our many restaurants, bars, beaches, or viewpoints, Kirkcudbright really has something for every style of holiday. There's so much to see and do, here are some of our highlights:

Kirkcudbright offers a truly unique escape, boasting a packed events calendar with something for everyone, from regular Farmers Markets to the Country Fair, Grand Parade, and Floodlit Tattoo. As the ideal base for your activity holiday—whether it is walking, climbing, cycling, or water sports—the town provides access to hundreds of miles of unspoilt coastline and numerous beaches just a short drive away. You will find all the stunning vistas of more well-known areas, but without other tourists jostling to take a photo, alongside an abundance of wildlife offering opportunities to get up close and personal with Red Kites, Pine Martens, and Red Squirrels.

Food and drink in Kirkcudbright - many are outwith Kirkcudbright, we have a number of cafes and restaurants and a few new ones that may benefit from being added such as Feast Cafe, Portobello Cafe, Logans Coffee House, Tides Fish Bar, Millers Wine Bar, Swally 'n' Scran, Skippers Scran Van - I know some of these may not pay for a membership with you, but ultimately, we have struggled in Kirkcudbright for a long time with people not having anywhere to eat and drink and now that we have all these places, the benefit of shouting about it is huge to Kirkcudbright as a whole.
