About Kirkcudbright Cottage Holidays, Providence Cottage

Providence Cottage
is a Victorian townhouse – located in the historic artist’s quarters – a stone’s throw away from the former residence of E. Hornell who was one of the renowned “Glasgow Boys”.
The harbour is a minutes walk away, and it is possible to do several interesting walks direct from the cottage into the beautiful countryside, without the need for a car.

Newly renovated, Providence Cottage is a comfortable and well appointed character property, retaining much of its original charm.

On the ground floor there is a good sized kitchen/diner, complete with modern appliances including a microwave and dishwasher.

This leads through to a comfortable lounge with electric fire, TV, WiFi and stereo system. Its tasteful decoration makes it the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. There is also a WC adjacent to the front door on this floor.

On the first floor there is a light and airy double bedroom with lots of cupboard space, a second bedroom that can be utilised as either a king sized or a twin room. The bathroom on this floor has a walk in shower.

A spiral staircase leads up to the top floor. This attic room can be used as a second lounge and has views over the town. Also on this floor there is a small bathroom with corner shower.

Please note that the spiral staircase may not be suitable for young children, the elderly or those with mobility issues.

There is ample on-street parking outside.

The property has central heating, and good mobile phone reception on all networks. The town has many amenities including two small supermarkets, a post office, many independent shops, pharmacy, garages, a hospital & health centre, and swimming pool.
