About Glenquicken Farm

Glenquicken is a working farm with sheep, horses, hens, pedigree Galloway cattle and working dogs. We also run a trout fishery.

Our cottages are maintained and furnished to a high standard and all rooms have stunning views of the Galloway countryside.

STABLE COTTAGE was once, as the name implies, the stable for the farm at Glenquicken.

The cottage has been sympathetically renovated and extended using all modern building and insulation methods to incorporate a superb sunroom/lounge with breathtaking views across the Loch and onwards to the Machars peninsula.

The kitchen has a raised solid wood roof with open pine beams, giving a very light and airy feel to the most modern of kitchens, fully equipped with up-to-date appliances including full-size oven and hob, fridge freezer and automatic washing machine and dryer. A TV, DVD and CD player are also supplied in the lounge.

The cottage is fully accessible even for the less able-bodied with a ramp installed to aid access.

MILL COTTAGE was once the corn-grinding mill for the farm and the original drive-shaft (horse driven) is still a feature on the patio.

The Mill is arranged practically upside down from a conventional cottage.

Access is upstairs through a large patio door onto the first floor where the living room, kitchen and one twin bedroom are located, while downstairs are a further quadruple bedroom, bathroom and utility room.

LODGE COTTAGE was once the granary and bothy for the farm.

They have now been carefully and sympathetically converted into a very comfortable cottage. Containing all modern-day conveniences while retaining an old-world character.

Again, the views from the cottage are simply stunning as are the night sky views.
