It Started With A Quiet Field And A Stubborn Idea.

For four generations, our family has farmed this corner of Galloway — a landscape of rolling fields, ancient woodland and wide-open skies above Port William. As farming evolved, we saw an opportunity to diversify while sharing a place we have always called home.

Rather than change the landscape, we created places to stay that sit gently within it. What began with our first glamping pods has grown into a collection of thoughtfully designed pods and luxury cabins, each offering guests the chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the peace of rural Galloway.

Today, Galloway Retreats is home to eleven unique retreats, but our ethos remains the same: warm hospitality, considered comfort and a genuine connection to the land. Still family-owned and set on our working farm, we invite you to experience the beauty, tranquillity and dark skies that make this part of Scotland so special.
No reception, no crowds just eleven thoughtfully designed spaces and their own stretch of sky.

The pods are curved timber, designed to feel warm and cosy. The cabins are created from reclaimed steel, with interiors that are simple, comfortable and considered, blending natural textures with modern comforts.

Sustainability sits at the heart of what we do. Much of the site is powered by solar energy, supported by battery storage and air source heat pumps, helping us tread more lightly without compromising on comfort.

Set within the UNESCO Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, Galloway Retreats offers a luxury escape in one of Scotland’s most celebrated natural landscapes, where peaceful surroundings and wide-open skies invite you to slow down and reconnect.
