About Cringletie

Discover Cringletie, a hidden gem in the Scottish Borders.
With 13 bedrooms and a 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms cottage with a hot-tub decking in the grounds, Cringletie is a great base to explore the local area. You can do as much or as little as you like, with plenty of activities nearby, our 28 acres of estate to explore, or simply curl up with a good book and afternoon tea or indulge in one of the many whiskys stocked in the bar.
With recent awards including 2 AA Rosettes for fine dining and The Hotel Awards “Hotel Dining Experience of the Year 2019” The Sutherland Restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily featuring locally sourced produce. We were also awarded The Best in TripAdvisor travelers choice 2020.

Recently launched, the Sunday Lunch menu has been devised by Head Chef Iain Gourlay, offering a wonderful array of locally sourced produce, including beef from the Tweed Valley. A three course menu with a choice of starters, a selection of roast meats – all carved at the table by chefs – served with honey roasted root vegetables, crispy goose fat potatoes and summer greens. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Choose from a trio of indulgent desserts or a selection of Scottish and international cheeses is also available at an additional charge, served with homemade chutney, honey, grapes and artisan crackers.

The Walled Garden is listed and dates back to 1666, the time of the estate’s original development. The Yew Tree hedges are said to be among the oldest in Scotland. As well as floral displays and fruit trees, the kitchen garden provides produce for use in the hotel’s kitchen. A boules pitch and outdoor chess board are featured in the Walled Garden. As well, it is a popular spot for wedding and other photography.
