About Blackloch Cottage

Portpatrick (6m, shops) and Stranraer (5m, shops, pubs and supermarkets) in picturesque Dumfries and Galloway is Blackloch Cottage. This former gamekeeper’s cottage sits in 5 acres of woodland looking out onto a shared loch.
Inside, the cottage is all on one level with a sitting/dining room with cosy wood-burning stove and stunning loch views, a modern kitchen, three double bedrooms and a twin room. Outside are grassed gardens and a fully stocked, 10 acre loch just 50 metres away where guests can fish.
There is a bar in walking distance and a grocery shop at Leswalt (1m). There are four golf courses in easy reach and the Southern Upland Way can also be picked up near the cottage. The Kirroughtree mountain biking centre is only an hour’s drive away.

This is a paradise for walkers and ornithologists, there are quiet beaches on the west side of the Rhins and several well-known gardens nearby. A visit to the lighthouse at the very southernmost tip of Scotland is also a must.
