Much of the South’s extraordinary landscape has defined Scotland’s history, and you can travel to some of our most stirring scenic views. Stand in the same place Sir Walter Scott drew his inspiration, or where the formidable Robert the Bruce defeated Scotland’s enemies. Discover our pretty seaside communities, our starry skies,  our rolling hills and valleys, and our magical forests and lochs – we can show you where to look.

Where to Visit?

There are so many beautiful places to set eyes on in the South, but if you’re hoping to preserve those moments on film, we recommend spending some time along the western coast in Portpatrick. If lofty views are more your thing, then the Pentland Hills offer impressive panoramas. Or stick a little closer to earth by heading to Moffat, where lochs and spectacular land formations await.
