St Cuthbert’s Way – Yetholm to the Border

Walking

On this next stage, St. Cuthbert’s Way coincides with the final stretch of the Pennine Way. Climbing from Halterburn past Green Humbleton, the first of many ancient hillforts on the route, you will soon reach the national border.

A short diversion to Eccles Cairn offers a final, sweeping view of the Scottish Borders and the Eildon Hills. Crossing the boundary, you enter the Northumberland National Park, renowned as one of Britain’s best-kept natural secrets.
