About Tweedsmuir

The picturesque village of Tweedsmuir, sits beside the River Tweed, with rolling hills and burns on both sides. Three miles west of Peebles, Tweedsmuir is an excellent location for those looking for a quieter place to stay and enjoy the outdoors. With great walking, biking and wildlife watching opportunities, the Giants Stone with two further stones on the opposite side of the road, can be found on the road to the Fruid Reservoir from Tweedsmuir. Robert Burns stayed at the nearby Crook Inn, a 17th century drover inn, and wrote the poem Willie Wastle’s Wife.
