About Tushielaw Inn

This is a former coaching inn, established in Hogg's time when roads were being built through the Borders. On the hillside is Tushielaw Tower, home of Adam Scott the King of Thieves who was reputedly hanged on his own hanging tree by James V in 1530. It is worth climbing up the hillside to see the ruins and its commanding location.
