An uninscribed slab of whinstone standing 2.4m high. It has been there, potentially, for 4,000 yrs. 100 pieces of much earlier Mesolithic flint (up to 12,000 yrs old) was also recovered from the immediate area - a spot of some significance! Legend has it that a great battle was fought here between the Scots & Danes. The Danes were defeated & their King is said to lie interred beneath the Standing Stone of Dalarran. One of the old Lairds of Holm claimed to have found an antique sword nearby.
