About The Raiders' Road

The Raider’s Road is one of two forest drives in the Galloway Forest Park, that allows visitors so enjoy the woods and wildlife without having to walk too far.

The stretch of road is 10 miles and can be driven both ways. Open all year round for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders, it is only open to vehicles between April and October. There is a fee of £2 to access the road.

The Otter Pool car park, halfway along the road is a great place to stop for a riverside picnic spot. For a quieter stop, Loch Stroan offers tranquil waterside views.
