Stobs Camp was a prisoner of war camp during the First World War, situated not far from the large Borders Town of Hawick. It is an internationally important site due to its level of preservation, being the best preserved World War 1 camp in Britain. The site was chosen as the surrounding hills was the ideal location with few possible escape routes.
