About St Mary's Loch

St Mary's Loch is the largest natural loch in the Scottish Borders with great views of surrounding hillsides in the beautiful Yarrow Valley. Tibbie Shiels Inn (now permanently closed) provides a useful start point for walking and the routes provide many good views over the loch and hills beyond. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling and fishing by the loch. Fishing permits can be attained from the loch keeper and The Glen Cafe which is closed during the winter.
