You are now following the infant footsteps of Walter Scott to Smailholm Tower itself Now in the care of Historic Scotland, there is an admission charge to tower which has a fine collection of figures from The Minstrelsy and some magnificent views from the battlement walk. There is no charge if you simply want to walk round it and admire the view.
