Rough Island

About Rough Island

Rough Island, in the middle of the Rough Firth, is a National Trust for Scotland bird sanctuary. Visitors must observe the signs protecting the birds' habitat and to prevent disturbance, please do not visit the island from the beginning of May to mid July. At low tide it is possible to walk out on an old causeway but before you go, make sure you have consulted an up-to-date tide timetable.
