About Robert Burns Statue

It was designed by Amelia Paton Hill and carved by Carrara sculptors in Italy. The statue's prominent placement in Dumfries reflects the high esteem in which the poet is held. The dog at Burns' feet is his beloved border collie named Luath, whom he chose to immortalize in 'The Twa Dogs'.
