About Ring of St Mary's Loch

This is a 7 mile/11 km route right round one of the most attractive lochs in the Borders. The circuit avoids as much of the main road using existing paths and tracks where possible. There are many places of interest including the March Wood, the Shinglehook Sculptures, St Mary’s Kirkyard, the loch outflow, Dryhope Tower, Cockburn’s Grave and the Dow Linn. The views are breathtaking as you take in the lochside, woodland and moorlands along the way.
