About Peebles

Buchan’s grandfather was a banker in Peebles. Moreover, it was the inspiration for the works of Buchan’s sister, Anna, the romantic novelist, who wrote frequently under the pseudonym O. Douglas. His brother, too, produced a three volume History of Peeblesshire.
