About Knockinaam Lodge

Knockinaam Lodge is a ten-bedroom Victorian country house hotel set within 40 acres of gardens and coastal grounds overlooking the Solway Firth in southwest Scotland. The front lawn sweeps down towards a secluded cove and beach, creating a peaceful retreat where guests can enjoy the dramatic beauty of the Galloway coastline.

Rated 5 gold stars by the AA (Restaurant with Rooms) and 4 stars (Hotel) by VisitScotland, the Lodge is known for its warm hospitality and award-winning restaurant. The kitchen focuses on seasonal Scottish produce sourced from trusted local suppliers, alongside fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the kitchen garden. Relaxed bar lunches, restaurant lunches, afternoon teas and dinner by reservation, are offered year round.

Guests can explore the surrounding coastline, enjoy long walks on quiet beaches, visit nearby gardens or play golf at some of the region’s excellent courses.

Within the estate also lies two self-contained coastal lodges. Shingle Lodge is a two-bedroom, single-level property with sea views, while Seall Lodge, set higher on the hillside, offers contemporary design and panoramic views across the bay. Both provide privacy and flexibility while still allowing guests to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.
