About Kirkhope Tower

The tower is a typical Border Pele Tower. This was the home of the eldest son of the Scotts of Harden.
The tower has been recently restored as a private house. Hogg used this as the home of Willie Scott of Harden before he was caught stealing Murray of Elibank's cattle and given the choice of marrying his youngest and ugliest daughter Muckle-Moothed Meg or hanging.
