About Hillhouse Farm Escapes

Hillhouse Farm Escapes is a collection of five holiday cottages on our biodiversity-friendly working farm in the Scottish Borders. Our cottages have individual designs and layouts, each with 2-5 bedrooms, well-equipped kitchens, generous living spaces and modern country interior design. We family-friendly, dog-friendly as well as horse-friendly!

All of our cottages have direct access to walking, biking, horse-riding and running trails with incredible views across our working farm. Our landscape has been restored to create rich biodiversity with tracks, trails, little streams, ponds, fields and woodland to explore. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet and the ability to connect with nature. The farm is also home to an Iron Age fort and other ancient settlements which are typical of the area around. For sports enthusiasts, the professional-grade tennis court is available for guest use.

Hillhouse Farm Escapes is just 40 minutes south of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport and the city. From here, you can make day trips to the city as well as discover the incredible natural, cultural and historical heritage of the Scottish Borders. This is an unspoilt region which gives visitors the opportunity to experience the best of Scotland away from the crowds.
