About Galloway Lodges

Galloway Lodges are 4 star Scottish Tourist Board self-catering holiday lodges situated around the hamlet of Sandyhills set in the superb parkland of Barend where you can enjoy sweeping views of the area, and just a stone's throw from one of Scotland's finest sandy beaches. The site boasts an excellent on site pub and restaurant. Laundry facilities are also provided on site for your use.

The Lodges have gas central heating & fully double glazed ensuring warm and comfortable holidays throughout the year. The modern kitchens are fully equipped with everything you need for your self-catering break with gas hobs, electric ovens, separate fridge & freezer and dishwasher while outside on the balcony, enjoy a meal with a glass of wine (or two ...) and unwind as you soak up the atmosphere.
The properties are pet friendly. As well as an XBOX or PS3 they also boast FREE superfast fibre Wi-Fi, Amazon Prime/Netflix + free view channels and DVD & CD players. Bicycle stand parking rack.

Providing a blend of seaside and countryside this is an ideal choice for make the most of the great outdoors. From walking on Sandyhills beach to biking, golfing or fishing you can enjoy it all here. The rolling farmland, sheltered Loch and coastline with its spectacular headlands, cliffs and sheltered sandy bays offers great bird watching opportunities particularly in the spring when the cliffs team with bird life. Just 30 minutes away you can visit the WWT Caerlaverock wetlands centre or the RSPB Mersehead reserve, failing that visit the Red Kite feeding centre at Laurieston. There are also beautiful scenic and challenging golf courses on your doorstep, including the championship links course at Southerness or the nearby Colvend golf course within walking distance and fantastic fishing - choose from sea fishing or course fishing, fly or line on one of the many inland lochs or visit the activity centre at Galloway Activity Centre for exhilarating water sports. Next to Barend is the Bainloch Deer Park - tours & cafe open daily. Spectacular dark skies also offer a fantastic opportunity to observe the night sky through binoculars, telescope or just look up and admire with your eyes - that is, if you can take them away from our nocturnal Badgers.
Nearby, the Dalbeattie forest & Mabie forest are a great place to explore and are 7stanes biking centres. Slightly further afield, Galloway Forest Park is 300 square miles of beautiful green forest, heather-clad hills, a wealth of wildlife and two more of the 7stanes mountain biking centres, Glentrool (home of Bruce`s Stone monument 1307) and Kirroughtree (MBR Trail of the year 2010). If that's not enough the town of Dumfries is only 30 minutes away steeped in history about Robert Burns & Peter Pan at Moat Brae and populated with many restaurants, pubs and attractions such as the Camera Obscura & Museum - or visit one of the many historic sites which adorn the area such as Sweetheart Abbey or Drumlanrig Castle. Whatever your tastes this lodge and location is sure to satisfy the most demanding of holiday appetites.

Covid 19:-
For guests reassurance Lodges have been risk assessed to obtain the best cleaning protocols available to us. Cleaned & disinfected thoroughly using a Fogging Machine to ASSC (Association of Scotland’s Self Caterers) & backed by the Scottish Government. A Check list for cleaning Self-Catering Units is also available for your perusal.
Successfully obtained the Covid-19 Holiday Let Cleaning Course by www.landlordslittlehelper.co.uk which is accredited by the ASSC.
Also British Cleaning Certificate, Coronavirus Awareness Certificate, Health & Safety in the Workplace Certificate and Travel & Tourism Diploma. Hand sanitisers at entrances.
