The Capercaillie at Airhouses is a beautiful luxury holiday house set in the peaceful countryside of the Scottish Borders, offering the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable family getaway. Surrounded by open space and fresh country air, the house combines stylish design with comfort, making it an ideal home-from-home for guests of all ages.

Inside, the house is thoughtfully laid out with bright, open-plan living areas that are perfect for spending time together. Large windows frame the surrounding countryside and fill the space with natural light, while high-quality furnishings and cosy touches ensure a welcoming and comfortable stay. Whether it’s family meals, games nights or quiet evenings in, the house is designed to bring everyone together. The house has two large gathering areas, which means it works well for multi-generational groups who might like some time doing different things. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 ensuite and 2 that share a family bathroom. The bedrooms are either Super King or two can be split into twins. The kitchen is huge with all the equipment you need, there is also an extra utility room with an extra dishwasher and washing machine etc.

Outside, there’s plenty to enjoy. Guests can relax in the private hot tub, while children love exploring the surroundings and spotting wildlife. A real highlight is the unique BBQ hut, offering a fun and sociable way to enjoy meals together in all seasons. It’s an experience the whole family can share, whatever the weather. All this it set within a secure garden area directly next to our lovely animals.

One of the most loved features of a stay at Airhouses is the chance to visit the friendly on-site animals. This hands-on countryside experience is a delight for children and adults alike, adding a special and memorable element to the stay and helping families connect with nature. Our animals include donkeys, goats, alpacas, pigs, chickens, and ponies.

Set within tranquil countryside yet well placed for exploring the wider Scottish Borders and only 40 mins from Edinburgh, The Capercaillie at Airhouses offers a safe, spacious and welcoming environment where families can relax, explore and create lasting memories together.

We also have an outdoor Nordic Sauna available on site as well as walks, our animals, honesty shop, pop up cafe, play den for under 5s. mud kitchen and a camp fire area.
