About Cademuir Circuit

A short story about a gamekeeper, showing an affinity with country ‘sport’ which eventually resulted in the thrilling "John Macnab"– a term still used for the taking of a salmon, a brace of grouse and a haunch of venison on consecutive days. In "John Burnet of Barns", a character who prefers to run of the Cademuir forever rather than die!
You can enjoy a walking circuit exploring the south of Peebles through Haystoun Estate and Cademuir Forest. The western edge of the walk follows the start of the John Buchan Way. See our app for more ideas of the walks and cycling in the area.
