Brochs are large drystone tower houses distinctive to Scotland. Built in the Iron Age, possibly by peoples from the north of the Forth, Bow Broch was probably destroyed by the Romans. A modern cairn is perched on the remains of the Broch. The view over the Gala Water is superb.
