Ardwell

About Ardwell

Ardwell is a small village on the shores of Luce Bay in the southern part of the Rhins of Galloway. There are only two roads, the A716 road, which passes through the village and Ardwell Park, a street of new houses.

Like many other local villages, Ardwell was built around a large estate, Ardwell House, located around half a mile west of the village. The small Ardwell Church was built in 1900–1902. The village was once the home of the 'leek fair' - a plant sale, eventually stopped due to unruly behaviour.
