Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders, Abbotsford’s Hope Scott Wing is the perfect luxury accommodation for groups of up to 16 guests on a self-catering basis. Once a home to Sir Walter Scott’s granddaughter, Charlotte Hope Scott, the Hope Scott Wing retains the intimacy and integrity of a family home, while introducing all the essentials of modern-day comfort.

With seven luxury ensuite bedrooms, and an adjoining additional eighth bedroom, this accommodation is ideal for families, groups of friends or colleagues celebrating a special occasion or those simply looking to escape to the Scottish Borders in style.

The elegant public rooms provide the perfect place to celebrate and relax. You can enjoy the peaceful reading room, billiard room, games corner and lavish sitting room. A large bespoke kitchen comes with a range of excellent facilities and the formal dining room boasts spectacular views of the River Tweed.

Outside you can unwind in the privacy of Hope Scott Wing’s courtyard and patio garden, stroll along the woodland and riverside paths and have exclusive afterhours access to Scott’s immaculate Regency Walled gardens.

Each party can bring up to three dogs that can enjoy their stay on the lower ground floor of the wing, equipped with two dog beds, dog bowls and grooming equipment. Our magnificent woodland areas and picturesque gardens provide plenty of open space for them to enjoy and they will receive a warm welcome at our onsite café too.

A range of excellent itineraries and catering services can also be arranged, such as banquets in Sir Walter Scott’s magnificent dining room, outdoor activities in the local area, guided tours of Scott's home, hot tub hire and even a personal chef.
