Trimontium Presents: Roman Rabbit Trail @ Abbey House

Join the Trimontium Museum at Abbey House for some Easter weekend activities to kick off the spring season! Did you know Romans re-introduced rabbits to Britannia when they invaded, and they’ve been here ever since. Their invasion was far more successful than the Roman one!

It will be a day filled with festive fun featuring our Roman Rabbit Trail- Follow the clues and work out the puzzle and there may be a chocolate treat reward! Our Roman volunteers will be on hand to help you find our missing Rabbits. We’ll have lots of other activities including;

- Face painting
- Roman dance
- Fancy Dress
- Crafts
- Egg launching (yes we will have our ballista onsite!)

Look out for Remus the Roman Rabbit on the streets of Melrose during the day- he’ll be hopping around with tasty treats. It should be a day full of seasonal fun that is not to be missed. The event will take place outdoors at Abbey House so be sure to dress for the weather. We hope to see you there!

The event is suitable for all the family. Adults are free and you only need to book tickets for the children participating in the Rabbit Trail (tickets from £3).

We will also have Easter themed crafts available in our museum throughout the school holidays, free with entry to the museum. If you’re attending the Roman Rabbit Trail you can opt to add on a reduced price ticket to the museum to your purchase so you can really make a day of it!
