Celebrity chef demos, oyster shucking championships, live music, extreme pond dipping, more than 60 market stalls, a packed programme of children’s entertainment and an absolutely enormous oyster bar stocked with sought after native oysters.

Stranraer Oyster Festival returns from 13th to 15th September at Stranraer Harbour, just a short distance from the famous Loch Ryan native oyster bed that inspired the community-run event.

The festival marks the opening of the native oyster season in September, and attracts thousands of people to the scenic waterfront of Stranraer each year to sample oysters from the last wild, native oyster fishery in Scotland.

Loch Ryan’s famous oysters are the focus of the festivities, but you don’t need to love seafood to enjoy the event! The south of Scotland’s local larder is evident throughout the programme; from local chef demos to artisan produce in the market.

The full programme and tickets are available from early summer.
