Join us for a Historical Guided Walk: Sports & Games in Peebles

Step back in time and discover the rich sporting history of Peebles on this unique 90-minute guided walk. From football and curling to golf and traditional pastimes, we’ll explore how sport and games have shaped the community through the years. Along the way, you’ll be shown fascinating historical photographs that bring the past to life, offering glimpses into how local people played, competed, and celebrated.

Our route will take you through key locations around Peebles, where stories of local legends, forgotten games, and sporting triumphs await. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply curious about the town’s vibrant heritage, this walk promises an engaging and enjoyable experience.

The walk lasts approximately 90 minutes. We recommend wearing sturdy footwear and dressing appropriately for the weather, as we’ll be outdoors throughout. Please note that the route may include some uneven ground.

This event is offered on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of £5 per person. All proceeds support the Charity Live Borders and helps us to deliver programmes and care for the collections held in Peebles Library, Museum and Gallery.
