“I wish, as well as everybody else, to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way.”

Unfairly compelled to leave their family home and left almost destitute by their brother and his spiteful wife, the Dashwood sisters and their mother must make a new beginning.

With dazzling wit, humour and sharp characterisations, Jane Austen’s captivating story is brought to vivid life by Hotbuckle, in this new version by Adrian Preater.

Previous shows by Hotbuckle Productions at The Swallow Theatre include Great Expectations (2022), Tess of the D’Urbervilles (2021), Jane Eyre (2019), Wuthering Heights (2018), Far From The Madding Crowd (2017), Emma (2016), Persuasion (2015) and many more.

The performance on 12 June will be held inside the theatre auditorium.

The performances on 13 and 14 June will, weather permitting, be fully outdoors in the theatre garden.
