Roman Fun Day

Join us for a day of free fun-filled activities in Abbey House Gardens, just next door to the Borders Book Festival, featuring

* Vivian Sabina and Roman Food
* Marcus the Medicus
* Roman & Iron Age performers
* Roman style dance performances
* Craft activities
* Face painting- the Native way!
* Dressing up

There’s something for everyone to enjoy from 11am-4pm in the beautiful Abbey House Gardens, opposite Melrose Abbey. Look out for our Roman guard marching around Melrose!

No need to book just come along and have some Roman fun! All activities are free of charge but we always appreciate donations to support the work of the Trimontium Trust

There is a lovely garden next door if you want to bring a picnic. The gardens are accessible by stairs or via ramp via the gate at the rear of Abbey House. There are no toilets available on site but there are public toilets nearby in Abbey Street.

The Trimontium Museum will be open as normal in Market Square if you want to make a day of it!
