Come and celebrate Mother’s Day with us! Join us for an informal get together to learn some of the basics of jewellery making, Roman style!

Ancient Roman jewellery was often colourful, elegant, richly made and evocative. Roman jewellery changed over time and was influenced by the civilisations the Romans conquered, especially by Greek, Egyptian and Etruscan jewellery. The expansion of the empire also gave access to an abundance of resources. As a result, coloured gemstones, the use of glass and rich materials and sometimes bold designs are characteristics of Roman jewellery.

Jewellery was worn by all genders, ages and social classes, for aesthetic purposes and also to communicate social status and wealth, and for good luck or religious purposes.

Special pricing for mother/guest registration is available. You are also more than welcome to sign up as a single admission. All are welcome!

All materials will be provided but if you have anything you want to use, bring it along. Coffee / tea will be involved!
