Kirkcudbright Festival of Light
The Kirkcudbright Festival of Light will be a fantastic spectacle for all to enjoy, with light installations, displays, workshops and a community lantern parade on Saturday 8th October.

The Soaperie Gardens in the centre of the town will once again be lit for visitors to come and enjoy. You can walk through the gardens and see the fantastic lights displays, then take a wander round the town centre and see the great installations and displays, as well as the houses that have joined in and added lights and decorations to their windows. The event is free to attend, but the Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities ask that if you can afford to, that you put a donation in one of the boxes in the Soaperie Gardens, as this goes directly towards funding next year’s Festival of Light.

The event runs over three days, with the town lit up each evening and the Festival culminates on the Saturday evening at 7.30pm with a lantern parade from the Soaperie Gardens, through the streets of Kirkcudbright. The parade this year will be led by Tony Bonning, well known local musician, poet, children’s entertainer and most recently adventurer & philanthropist, who has just returned from walking around Scotland with his horse Chief; who will join him on the parade
