Every effort has been made to verify the accuracy of the event information but we recommend contacting the event organisers before attending.

Created by Evie Waddell (voice, BSL signed song, body percussion, movement) and performed by Evie Waddell and Sam Mabbett (accordion), Ivory Cutlery is a 50-minute visual performance inspired by the songs and spirit of Scottish artist Ivor Cutler.

Blending singing, British Sign Language, physical theatre, contemporary dance, Scottish step dance, and live accordion, the show celebrates Cutler’s playful imagination and his ability to find wonder in ordinary moments.

Through music, movement, and signed storytelling, the performance invites audiences to reconnect with curiosity, humour, and the beauty of the everyday.

Born in Govan in 1923, Ivor Cutler was a poet, humourist, environmentalist, musician, and teacher whose songs — including Women of the World and Beautiful Cosmos — developed a devoted cult following.

His work celebrates playfulness, nature, and unexpected perspectives on everyday life.

Evie Waddell is a deaf / hard-of-hearing artist who performs using both voice and British Sign Language.

The performance will incorporate BSL within the songs, but not the spoken sections between them.
