Halloween at Bowhill: The Shape-Shifter’s Sanctuary

Step into a Halloween experience inspired by real Buccleuch heritage and historical figures at Bowhill.

Begin your adventure on the Halloween Trail and enter the magical world of Mary Dore, inspired by the real stories and characters of Bowhill’s past. Follow the clues through the grounds to help Mary recover her lost legacy and gather the magical firewood she needs to rebuild her cottage – with a little help from the eccentric Duke of Montagu, ancestor of the current Duke, along the way.

Once you’ve completed the trail and helped Mary gather the magical firewood, it’s time to head to the Pumpkin Patch and choose your very own pumpkin.

But the Halloween fun doesn’t stop there! Little monsters can run wild in the woodland playground, with flying foxes, climbing forts, twisting slides and more. For indoor thrills, head to the Courtyard soft play, or get creative in the Courtyard Gallery with spooky-themed crafts and activities.

When it’s time to refuel, gather around the fire in the Playground to toast marshmallows or enjoy a steaming hot chocolate from the Old Horse Box. Alternatively, grab lunch at the Old Kitchen Café.
