Gretna Green Shortbread Festival, A bank holiday weekend full of Scottish flavour
The Gretna Green Shortbread Festival returns on 29–30 August for two days of family fun, Scottish culture, food, drink and shortbread celebrations.

Taking place across the Famous Blacksmiths Shop site, the festival features:

- Annual Shortbread Baking Competition (Sunday)
- Charity Tug o' War Competition (Saturday)
- Live entertainment
- Family activities and games
- Food and drink tastings
- Highland Coos
- Shortbread making demonstrations

Whether you're taking part or simply discovering more about the heritage of Scotland's favourite biscuit, there's something for everyone to enjoy throughout the bank holiday weekend.

Think your shortbread has what it takes? Enter our free Shortbread Baking Competition for the chance to be crowned Gretna Green Shortbread Champion.

On Saturday, cheer on or take part in our Charity Tug o' War Competition, raising funds for the John Hampson MND Research & Support Fund, with all money raised matched by Gretna Green Ltd.
