Fashion for the Fashionable in the 18th Century - Live Event

3rd April 2023

Every effort has been made to verify the accuracy of the event information but we recommend contacting the event organisers before attending.

On the 3rd – 7th April visitors to Paxton House, will have the opportunity to see “slow” fashion in action, when two students of historic costume and textile design will create a sack-back dress that was fashionable in the 1770’s, when Paxton was owned by Ninian and Penelope Home. Despite its unflattering name it is a very elegant gown that will be made from scratch over five days in Paxton's impressive Picture Gallery.
