Dalbeattie Wood Make & Create Workshop Dark Sky Festival Creative Experiences:
- Celebrate the South of Scotland’s extraordinary night skies with two hands‑on creative workshops designed especially for the South of Scotland Dark Sky Festival. At Dalbeattie Wood Make & Create Workshop, you can explore constellations, lunar phases and the beauty of darkness through unique craft experiences that let you take home your own piece of the night sky.

What’s on Offer:
- Join us for two Dark Sky Festival workshops designed to be creative, relaxed and enjoyable. Whether you choose the rotating constellation coaster or the driftwood wind chimes, you’ll make a piece inspired by the night sky to take home and enjoy.

Workshop 1: Rotating Constellation Coaster:
- Build your own rotating constellation coaster, a decorative wooden piece that reveals six northern sky constellations when held up to the light. As you turn the inner wheel, each constellation appears clearly in the window, creating a striking educational display inspired by the night sky.
Made from 3 mm birch‑veneered ply, all parts are pre‑cut and the build uses simple gluing, sanding and waxing. The project takes around an hour to complete, and is normally sold finished for £12. This workshop offers a rare chance to make your own.
